Our Priests
 

Parashakthi Temple is home to five experienced Hindu priests who can perform various types of Hindu rituals and Pujas at the Home of the devotee or in the Temple. These include: Seemantham ( Pregnancy), Namakaranam (Naming), Annaprasanam (First-meal), Akshrabhyasa, Upanayanam (Thread ceremony), Vidyabhasa Poorthy (Graduation), Nischitartham (Engagement), Vivaham (Wedding), Shashtiabdapoorthy (60th Birthday), Sadabhishekam (80th Birthday), Bhumi Puja, Graha Pravesham (House warming), Rishi Panchami, Sathyanarana pooja, Vahana puja and all types of Homa and Nithya puja. Our priests will also handle funeral services, shraadda (ancestor Worship puja) and other aparakramas. A brief description of our priests is given below.
 



Shri. Siddhintha Gurukkal

Shri. Siddhintha Gurukkal joined our temple as a priest in January 2006. Shri Gurukkal was born in Nachiarkoil, Tamil Nadu and received his training in the Agama tradition of Nithya, Nimithya and Prathishta puja from the Veda Sivagama Patashala, Dharmapuram, and Tamil Nadu. He is an expert in Agama Shastra, and recital of Thevaram, Thirumurai and Divya Prabhandam (Dravida Vedam). He has served as a priest in Kudavasal and Sri Kalikambal Temple, Chennai and as chief priest in the Uttara SwamiMalai Murugan Temple, New Delhi. In addition, he has worked as a priest in Sivan Koil, Singapore, Siva Subramania Swami Kalikambal Temple, St. Dennis, Reunion Islands and in Mahalakshmi Temple, Boston. On several occasions, he has been an invited priest for conducting Kumbhabhishekams in various temples in England, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Sri Lanka and the USA. He is also very knowledgeable in Carnatic Music, Indian Astrology and numerology and speaks Tamil and Hindi very fluently and is proficient in Sanskrit. He is very mystical and communicates with the Divine Mother. In addition to Temple Pujas, Shri Gurukkal is well versed in conducting various pujas and rituals at home. We are indeed very happy to have Shri Gurukkal amongst us.
 



Sri Krishnaswamy Bhatta

Shri krishnaswamy Bhatta joined our temple in the summer of 2008. He comes from a family of hereditary priests of the Kote Sri Prasanna Venkataramana Swamy Temple, Bangaluru. He received diplomas in Pancharathra Agama, Pravara and Praveena from Mysore S. M. Sanskrit College and Vishishtadwaitha Vedanta Madhyama training from Karnataka University. Before joining our temple, he worked as an Agamik priest in Kote Sri Anjaneyaswamy Temple and Karekal Sri Anjaneyaswamy Temple, Bangaluru. He is well trained in Bhagadaradhana Nityotsava, Brahmotsava, Pavitrotsava, Kalyanotsava, MahaKumbhabhishekam, Prana Prathishtapanam, Sudrarhana Homam, Griha Pravesam, Nama Karanam and all Poorva Prayogams. He speaks and can converse in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, English and Hindi. Shri Krishnaswamy belongs to the Vaishnavite sampradayam.
 



Priest Madhavan Bhattar

Priest Nandhagopal Rajagopal Bhattar also known popularly as Madhavan Bhattar hails from Srirangam the abode of lord Ranganatha. He comes from a parampara of sri Vaishnava priests from the Srirangam temple. He studied Krishna Yajur Veda from Sri Ranganatha paduka vidyalaya and got further training in pancharathra agama from the late Sri Rangaraja Bhattar Swamigal and his son Muralidhara Bhattar. Sri Madhavan Bhattar is very familiar with all temple rituals such as abhisheka for deities, Archana, aradhana,paarayanam and homa including those pertaining to Shaivite worship. He is an expert on Vaishnava sampradayam. He can perform various rituals such as Ganapathi Homam, Bhusuktha Homam, Navagraha Homam, Varahi Homam, Ayush Homam, Mrithyunjaya Homam, Vivaham, varalakshmi vritham, Sathyanarayana puja etc at the homes of devotees. Devotees may contact him for details of puja that can be performed by him. Sri Madhavan Bhattar is an excellent Astrologer also. He has performed Samprokshana ceremonies in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia apart fro participating in various religious events conducted by temples in India.
 



Priest Narayanaswamy Kumar


Priest Narayanaswamy Kumar is a priest of the Smartha tradition and has qualified in Krishna Yajur Veda at the Veda Vedanta Padasalai in Pazuvhur, Trichy, and Tamil Nadu. He is familiar with Arunam, Kaatakam, Upanishad, Shaka Samhitha and Kramam. He also learnt various poorva rituals like Punyakavachanam, Namakaranam, Annaprasanam, Chowlam, Upanayanam, Vivaham, Seemantham, Ayushhomam, Shastiabda poorthy and apara Kramas like Pretha Karma, Nithya Vidhi, Subhasweekaram, Tharpanam, Shraddham etc. His training in Alabama puja includes Death Gayathri, Shakhabhishekam, Annabhishekam, Alankaram, and Archana. He chants various slokas and Paarayanas with clarity. He has worked in Singapore as a rites priest and is available for all types of Graha Pujas.
