We are pleased to announce that the City of Pontiac has approved the construction plan that was submitted by the Parashakthi Temple and the construction started on February 20th and is anticipated to be completed by July 2006.

SUMMARY OF ENHANCEMENTS
Due to the multitude of requests from devotees asking for additional space and more parking spots, the temple management has initiated this remodeling project to meet the growing requirement for extra space.

The remodeling will involve the following: Back to Top
- Knocking off the walls that partition the restrooms and the priests’ quarters from the sanctum to consolidate the floor space into a single
worship area so that devotees have a larger floor area (double the existing space) to conduct their worship
- Building a separate restroom facility that is connected to the main structure on the South side of the existing building
- Building a kitchen area on the North side of the existing building so prasadam can be served in a spacious environment
- Addition of new deities to the existing sanctum area (Eg. Kubera Lingam, Lord Venkateshwara, etc.)
- Addition of parking space so more devotees can visit the temple and conveniently park to participate in all the festivities at the temple in
addition to the regularly scheduled poojas
- Widening of the driveway so that there is additional parking space on the sides and to facilitate a better flow of traffic
- Addition of a beautiful statue of Mother Gajalakshmi at the island in front of the building (Cost not included below)

1) BE A “TEMPLE BUILDER”: Sponsor sanctum square footage.
We are offering devotees the opportunity to pay for square footage so that the cost of construction is shared and divided among all of us. You
also have the option of paying for specific items of construction (e.g. carpet, light fixtures, granite tiles, pillars, etc.). We have divided the
sanctum into 3 areas:

- Area occupied by the deities ($151/sq ft)
- Area between Mother Parashakthi and West facing Ganesha deity ($251/sq ft) where all homams are performed.
- Remaining area of the sanctum ($75/sq ft)
Those who wish to pay for square feet area can choose their Ishta Devta or preferred deity and pay for sq ft occupied by that deity or all the deities of your choice. We request a donation of $151 for each sq ft that you wish to sponsor. Alternately, you can also pay for the granite area in front of Mother at $251/sq ft or $75/Sq ft for the remaining area. Please see the floor plan on the right side for details of the layout.

Our temple is registered under the Meijer Community Rewards Program and you can help our Temple automatically earn from Meijer, a % of
the money you pay for purchases at a Meijer store. If each of our devotees sign-up for this FREE service, it will significantly help the temple
pay for the increase in utility bills that can accrue as a result of the remodeling (such as heat, electricity, maintenance, winter snow clearance,
landscaping, etc.).

2b) Participate in Kroger Gift Card Program - FREE!
We are happy to announce that the Parashakthi Temple is now registered with Kroger Foods with their community rewards program. The gift card program works in the following way.
Background info
- The temple has purchased pre-paid gift cards for a denomination of $5 each from Kroger. These cards
are encoded to identify our temple when you make a purchase with these cards.
- You can only purchase these cards from the temple or through one of it's authorized representatives
- Each of these cards has a cash equivalent of $5. So it is a FREE service and you can purchase items
for the amount of $5 at any Kroger store with this gift card.
How this card works
- Once you purchase this card, you can go to the cashier at a Kroger store and recharge the card for
the required amount and pay for it by cash/check/credit card of your choice BEFORE paying for the
groceries. This HAS TO BE A SEPARATE TRANSACTION to maximize rewards.
- Once you have recharged the card, you can pay for your groceries using the gift card.
- This card can be recharged every month to pay for your monthly groceries/purchases at Kroger.
- When the amount of the total recharges/gift card purchases of all the devotees put together exceeds
$5000 in one month, the temple gets 5% of the total amount!
- If the amount is less than $5000 for a certain month, the amount gets rolled over to the following
month and the rewards will get earned during that month, once the total exceeds $5000.

One Year Pooja Sponsorship Back to Top
For the convenience of devotees, we are now offering the following pooja sponsorship options at the temple:
- - Abhishekam Sponsorship for a Year for your preferred deity (Ganesha/ Muruga/ Ashtalakshmi/ Navagrahas/ Guruvayurappan/
Ayyappan/ Shiva)
We will perform sankalpams in your name and each member of your family for a year from the date of sponsorship for the specified
deity. We perform 1 abhishekam every week for each of these deities except for Guruvayurappan for Whom it is done once/month.
- - Abhishekam Sponsorship for a Year for Mother
Sankalpams for ALL abhishekams performed for Mother Parashakthi at the temple for 1 year from the date of sponsorship.
We perform over 150 abhishekams a year for Mother Parashakthi.
- - Homam Sponsorship for a Year
We will perform sankalpams for your family for ALL homams performed at the temple for 1 year from the date of sponsorship.
We perform around a 100 Homams each year
- - Homam + Abhishekam Sponsorship
We will perform sankalpams for your family for ALL homams & Abhishekams performed at the temple for 1 year
- - 365 days for all poojas
We will perform an Archana in your name and each member of your family everyday for a year. This includes special functions
such as Navarathri, New Year’s day, etc.
For all of the above 1 year sponsorships, the sankalpam will be performed for you and your family even if you are not present on these
auspicious days and the priests will do the poojas in your name.
